Analyst Chris “Mad Dog” Russo is known for his bold claims.

This time, he is showing a lot of faith in the 2024 New York Yankees.

He believes the Yankees will have a very good year by winning 95 games.

“I think the Yankees will have a very good year… 95 wins.” @MadDogUnleashed has high expectations for the Yankees after a busy offseason,” MLB Network tweeted.

Normally, it wouldn’t surprise anyone to see the Yankees projected by some to win that many games.

However, they earned just 82 victories last year, and they just lost their ace for the next 1-2 months.

Even getting to 95 wins might be challenging, but the premise of Russo’s comments were that they had a very solid offseason.

And they did.

The Yankees brought in three starting-caliber outfielders in Alex Verdugo, Trent Grisham, and All-Star Juan Soto.

They also signed Marcus Stroman to round out their rotation and acquired two solid relievers in Caleb Ferguson and Victor Gonzalez.

They also focused on developing some key players with offseason workouts and routines.

Even without Cole, possibly for a third of the regular season, they are capable of winning that many games.

They have one of the top rosters in the American League.

The real question in this case is if they are capable of taking the AL East division from the Baltimore Orioles, winners of 101 games last year.

It will be extremely difficult, but not impossible based on the Yanks’ offseason improvements.
